A fifth of cover present but detatched, not affecting cover illustration, else good. very light foxing. An edition of 9 caricature plates each with 9-12 drawings of comical depictions mathematics and geometry and physics terms. For example, the caption ’Producing a Line’ has a drawing of a pensive poet desperately trying to come up with his next sentence. ‘Addition and Subtraction’ has a drawing of a man being pick-pocketed. ‘Extraction of a Root’ has a man being examined in a dentist’s chair. ‘Elimination of an Unknown Quantity’ depicts a man being physically removed from an establishment.
